Today, over 300 pilots and cabin demonstrated in front of the European regulator (EASA) headquarters in Cologne. The action was jointly organised by ECA and the European Transport Workers Federations (ETF), who express to show EASA their concerns regarding the draft proposal for future rules on crew flight and duty time. The current proposal is insufficient to protect passengers from the safety risks associated to crew fatigue. The EU must wake up and base its future rules on scientific considerations, not the airlines’ commercial interests.
