On 30 April, ECA submitted extensive comments to the European Aviation Safety Agency’s (EASA) proposal for future EU rules on aerodromes (Notice of Proposed Amendments on Aerodromes). ECA’s safety experts analysed the text and made suggestions for improvement.
Furthermore, in a cover letter accompanying our comments, we stressed our main concerns regarding the proposal. Among these, the need to ensure full pilot involvement at airport level in all decision-making processes as well as the need to better balance between soft law and hard law.
EASA will now into the comments and should publish a new draft in the coming months, which ECA will carefully analyse to make sure that our main concerns are reflected.
